SAVED 84% AT FOOD LION

I stopped in Food Lion to grab some of the Kellogg's cereal that was on promo ($5 off instantly with the purchase of 4). I had coupons for Rice/Cocoa Krispies and they were on sale for $2 each. There were also peelies on some boxes for a free bag of marshmallows with the purchase of 2 cereals. This is what I did.

1 Rice Krispies
3 Cocoa Krispies
2 Jet-Puffed Marshmallows
4 Chef Boyardee Can Pasta

For some reason, the $5 did not come off at the register, so a trip to Customer Service was required. After they refunded me $5, I paid a total of 3.50. I saved 18.57. Good Deal!

34 THINGS I GOT FOR FREE THIS WEEK

This is a list of 34 things that I got for free this week through the use of coupons or online requests for samples. It does not include anything that I got by playing the various drugstore games. This is what I got:
1 Mary Kay Mascara
1 Mary Kay Eye Makeuo Remover
1 Sample Splenda (large 24 servings)
8 Martha White Cornbread Mix
3 Glory Cornbread Mix
1 SH Wonton Strips
2 Ronzoni Rotini
2 Sundown Vitamins
1 Wanchai Ferry Frozen Entree
2 Hershey's Syrup
1 Reddi-Wip
4 Whiskas Cat Food Trays
2 Kraft Marshmallows (Only 1 pictured)
3 45ct boxes Ecotrin
2 Heluva Good Dips

The total retail value of all of these is 73.09, based on each store's full retail price. I estimated the cost of the 2 samples. Also, keep in mind that several of these coupons produced overages, making other items cost less. I had a total of 3.81 in overages making my total free 76.90. It was a great week!

50% OFF AT ACE HARDWARE

I just ran across this great coupon on coupons.com. It is for 50% off of any item under $30. So go HERE to print yours now. This coupon is good November 27th only.

CHEAP CANDY AT WAGS

I had a very good trip to Walgreen's this week. Everything that I was looking for was in stock. I had a short list, so I decided to do just 1 transaction. I bought:
2 Vicks Sinex
4 M&M's
3 Ecotrin
1 Holiday Butterfinger.

I bought the Butterfinger as a filler, and did not realize that there was an in-ad coupon for it. I could have saved 20¢ more.
I started with $7 Register Rewards.
I spent 9.61 and received $15 Register Rewards.
That makes the total for this trip 1.61. YAY!

BI-LO BARGAINS

My trip to Bi-Lo this week was quite successful. I was able to stock up on cornbread mix and Eagle Brand milk. Here is what I bought.
1 Gallon Milk (3.13)
1 half-gallon Buttermilk (2.47)
2 Martha White Biscuit Mix (2/66¢)
8 Martha White Cornbread Mix (8/0+40¢ overage)
2 Comstock Pie Fillings (2/2.21)
1 SH Saltines (99¢)

5 Eagle Brand Milk (5/4.40)
2 Stayfree Pads (2/1.00)
1 3lb. bag onions (1.64)
1 SH Wonton Strips (0)
1 received 15¢ credit for using my own bags.

As you can see, I bought several things that I did not have coupons for. One good thing about using coupons, is that it enables you to afford the things that do not have coupons and stay within your budget.

Total value before sales and coupons was 49.26.
The total I spent was 16.52 plus tax.
I saved 32.74 or 66%.

Total value before sales and coupons was 93.12 plus tax.
The total I spent was 26.29 plus tax.
I saved 66.83 or 72%. This number is not as high as the last few weeks, but dog food is quite pricey, even with coupons.

28 THINGS I GOT FOR FREE THIS WEEK

This is a list of the things that I got for free this week through the use of coupons or online requests. It does not include the things that I got free by playing the various drugstore games.

1 Wholly Guacamole
12 Whiskas Trays
2 Yakisoba Noodles
2 Axe Shower Gel
2 Sundown Vitamins
1 Marcal Tissue
1 SH Sloppy Joe Sauce
1 Gain Dish Liquid
2 Idahoan Potatoes
1 Wanchai Ferry Frozen Entree
3 Glory Corn Bread Mix

Several of these coupons created overage, which actually would have made even more free items. The total I would have paid for all of these is $38.66, plus I had a total of 4.99 in overages.
That makes $43.65 worth of free stuff!

WAL MART WOW

I seldom use coupons at Wal Mart, since most of the time I leave disappointed. They are usually very coupon-unfriendly. I guess today was my lucky day! I had a $4 Wholly Guacamole coupon and my last $5 Kraft coupon. They were both expiring. I bought:

2 Breakstone Sour Cream
3 Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1 Wholly Guacamole
1 Store Brand Loaf Bread

The guacamole only cost 2.28 so I was prepared for a problem. However, if went through just fine. I don't think my cashier keyed it in, but I'm not sure. When she scanned my Kraft coupon, she was prompted to enter the amount. When she entered $5, it only credited me 1.42. She told me this and when I questioned why, she said she didn't know. She then went and asked someone, and when she came back, she entered the remaining 3.58 as a vendor coupon.

I paid a total of .70. WOW!

ANOTHER GREAT RITE AID TRIP

I had a really great trip to Rite Aid this week, as usual. I had not shopped Rite Aid in a couple of weeks, so I was really glad to find that most of my list was in stock. This is what I bought, doing 3 transactions.

3 12pks Pepsi/Mt. Dew
3 Nivea Men's Body Wash
4 Axe Body Wash
1 Finish Jet-Dry
2 Garnier Herbashine Hair Color
1 Garnier Shampoo
1 Garnier Conditioner
2 Hall's Cough Drops
1 Oral B Toothbrush
1 Vacuum Wine Stopper (clearance)
2 Halloween Candy (clearance)

I started with $4 +Up Rewards.
I spent a total of 9.76 plus tax, rolling my +Up Rewards.
iI have 4.99 +Up Rewards for next time, making this trip cost me 8.77 plus tax. I would have paid that much for just the drinks. I love Rite Aid.

BI-LO BARGAINS

I spent more at Bi-Lo this week than usual, but that's because they had ground chuck and boneless chicken breast on sale at the same time. These are staples in my house. This is what I bought:

6 boxes Kleenex
4 4lb bags Dixie Crystals Sugar
1 Mt. Olive Banana Peppers
2 Martha White Biscuit Mix
1 Nabisco Classic Cookies
1 10 Potatoes
2 SH Dip Mix
1 SH Hamburger Buns
5 Chef Boyardee Pasta
1 Marcal Tissue
1 SH Sloppy Joe Sauce
4 Campbells Cream Soups
6 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
1 Gallon Milk
1 Gain Dish Liquid

My total before sales and coupons was 93.69.
Total I spent was 41.81.
I saved 51.88 or 55%.

This savings is not as much as usual, but still pretty good, considering I bought potatoes, milk, and ground chuck, and 4 bags of sugar. The meat and sugar were on sale but only by about 40%. Also, I could not find my coupon for the biscuit mix. I did 2 separate transactions because there was a catalina deal on the Kleenex and a limit of 2 on the sugar. I paid for the Kleenex and 2 bags of sugar first and received a coupon for $3 off mt next order, which I used on the second transaction. My banana peppers rang up full-price and I did not catch it until I started writing this post. I will probably stop at the service desk next week and see if they will correct the mistake.
