While shopping at Bi-Lo I found a new coupon booklet. It was on a free-standing display at the front end of one of the aisles. It is called "BETTER AT HOME eat at home for less" and contains 15 $1 off coupons. It also has lots of shopping tips and great recipes. Look for this the next time you shop Bi-Lo.

This is a photo of a gift basket that I made for the birthday of a very dear relative. Everything in it came from my stockpile and I only had to purchase the bow and bowl (from Dollar Tree). I already had the wrap. I chose to use a large bowl so that she could use it in her kitchen. It contained:
1 notebook
1 2pk Pilot pens
John Freida Shampoo
John Freida Conditioner
Dove Deodorant
Schick Disposable Razors 5pk
SatinCare Shave Gel
Garnier Face Cleanser
Garnier Towelettes
Softsoap Body Wash
Softsoap Hand Soap Ensemble
Crest Toothpaste
Oral B Toothbrush
Revlon Lip Gloss
Glade Sense & Spray
Granola Nut Clusters
Snickers Marathon Bar
Carefree Liners

She is a college student in off-campus housing. I felt this would be a better gift than something I could by on a limited budget. I also made her card and included a couple of BOGO Sobe coupons. I think that CVS will have them on sale again next week.

I recently posted HERE about a new coupon booklet offer from P&G that was to start on September 1st. P&G has changed that date to included purchases made between August 20th thru December 31st. Print your rebate form HERE.

There will be 3 inserts in tomorrows newspaper. Click HERE to see what coupons you can expect.

Many folks want to start "CVS-ing" but don't know how to get started. This is a simple scenario based on this week's ad to help. If you follow this scenario, using these coupons you will be on your way. This is also a continuation from last week. When we finished shopping last week, we had spent 6.96 out of pocket and had:
1 Blink Eye Drops
1 Gillette Fusion Razor
1 Crest Toothpaste.
We finished with $7.50 ECBs

This week buy:
Transaction #1
1 Philips Headphones @ 6.99 (Sunday thru Tuesday only)
2 Cans Campbells Tomato soup @ 50¢ each
---Use 50¢ off 2 coupon HERE
Subtotal is 7.49
---$7.50 ECB from last week (if you have them)
Total due 0 + tax.
Receive 6.99 ECB

Transaction #2
4 Oral B Toothbrushes @ 299 each
---Use 2 BOGO coupons from RP 8/15
---Use 2 $1 off coupons from RP 8/15
1 Glide Floss @ 3.97
---Use $1 off coupon from P&G 8/1
Subtotal is $6.95
---Use 6.99 ECB from transaction #1
Total due 0+ tax.
Receive 7.50 ECBs (5 for Oral B, 2.50 for floss)

So, if this is week 2 for you, you have paid nothing but tax for 4 toothbrushes, floss, and headphones. You have the same amount in ECBs that you started with. So for the 2 weeks you have made a profit of 52¢ (except for tax) and now you have
1 Gillette Fusion Razor
1 Crest Toothpaste
1 Blink Eye Drops
1 Philips Headphones
2 Campbells Tomato Soups
4 Oral B Toothbrushes
1 Glide Floss

You have 7.50 ECBs to start next week.
If you are just starting this week, You would pay the subtotal of 7.49 in transaction #1 and continue. You can even leave off the soup if you don't need it or don't have the coupon and pay 6.99 plus tax. You will spend 7.49 (or 6.99 without the soup) plus tax and have 7.50 for next week. Still a great deal!

I went to Rite Aid this week to pick up some sale items. I had so much that I separated it into 3 separate transactions. I got a really awesome deal on M & M's, so I should be stocked up til at least Halloween! I bought:

6 Bags M & M's @ 2.50
1 Garnier Cleanser @ 6.29
1 Garnier Towelettes @ 3.14
1 Ben Gay @ 5.49
3 John Freida @ 5.00
3 Pilot Pens @ 1.00
1 Chestal Cough Syrup
4 Snickers Marathon Energy Bars @ 1.49 BOGO
1 Hilands Leg Cramps PM
1 Backaid 28ct
1 Salonpas Pain Relief Patch
1 Stopain Roll On

Total value was 69.36
Total after coupons was 26.95 plus tax, for a total of 29.94.
I started with 3.50 +Up Rewards. During the transactions I received and used $10 +Up Rewards, and I have $1 +Up Reward for next time.
I will get 33.97 in SCRs, which makes this a 1.53 money maker, even after tax.
The really great thing about this is that I paid with gift cards that I received from Rite Aid in the recent Skin Care SCR promo. I spent about $15 during the skin care promo.
Have I said lately that I love Rite Aid?!

This is another great Facebook deal. "Like" Walgreens on Facebook and receive a free purse-size 10-page photo book. You will have to pay shipping of 2.99 and I believe there is an extra charge for additional pages. Personally, I love these photo books. They are just the right size to fit in your purse. I had one made for my niece, who has a newborn, a couple of months ago when they had the larger ones on a special deal. She loves it! These make great gifts!

I know that Savinsource has visitors because my counter moves a few numbers everyday. I am trying to reach more people and have this blog grow but I need your help. I would appreciate it if my readers would leave comments or click on "contact me" on the sidebar to let me know what you would like to see here. I try to post original deals that I find online or in my email. I am also considering a series of posts on the basics of couponing. If you would be interested in this kind of post, let me know. Also, if you have deals that you would like me to share here, contact me with the details. I will be glad to post it once it has been verified, as long as it has not been plagiarized from another blog.

I recently posted about restaurant.com having a 70% off sale on restaurant certificates HERE. Well, now they've upped the ante. They are now offering dining certificates for 80% off using the code CLEARANCE at checkout. Click HERE to order your certificates now.

I had a good trip to Publix yesterday. I stocked up on a few necessities and got some really great deals. I got so many good deals that I can not pick the best one. I bought:
2 Kotex Pads (47¢ each)
2 Peter Pan Peanut Butter (64¢ each)
2 Kid Cuisine Dinners (69¢ each)
3 Sure Deodorant (39¢ each)
2 Mt Olive Pickles (39¢ each)
6 Hunts Tomatoes (40¢ each)
4 Pepsi Max 2 Liters (42¢ each)
2 Allens Turnip Greens (50¢ each)
4 Vienna Sausage (32¢ each)
2 Hefty 30 gallon Drawstring Trash Bags 28ct (2.44 each)
1 Pepperidge Farms Crackers (75¢)
Total before coupons and sales was 65.81.
I also used a "1.50 off your next purchase" catalina coupon that I got at Kroger.

I paid 17.01 for all of this. I actually believe that the cashier failed to scan 1 of my store coupons for the Sure deo, but since I think that they are only supposed to accept one per transaction and I had 3, I didn't say anything.
I saved a total of 48.80 or 74%.

Did you ever think about joining a gym, but just can't be sure if that's what you want to do? Right now, Gold's Gym is offering a free 7-day membership. Go HERE to sign up. This way you know what it's like before investing your money.

I noticed some great new coupons on coupons.com and they probably will not last long. Go HERE to print:

1.50 off 2 Kelloggs Fruit Loops, Apple Jacks, or Corn Pops Cereal
75¢ off 1 Dole Salad Mix
50¢ off 2 Pillsbury Toaster Struedel
1.00 off 2 Frosted Mini-Wheats
I searched using the zip code 90210. I especially like the toaster struedel coupon because it will double in many grocery stores and they often have these on sale.

Are you a member of Kraft Foods First Taste? If not, click HERE to join and sign up for their newsletter. Members receive offers to try new products as soon as they come out. I recently received a coupon for a free Kraft Homestyle Macaroni and Cheese Dinner. As a member, you will also be able to give Kraft direct feedback on new products. In the past few months I have received free Digiorno Pizza, Oreo Cakesters, & Philadelphia Cream Cheese. I also had the opportunity to tell Kraft what I thought about each one.

A while back, I wrote a post about Ebates. Ebates is a company that gives you a percentage back when you shop online, if you are a member, and if you connect through their site. Each day, they feature a daily double. Today it is 123inkjets.com.

If you shop their store through ebates, you will receive 32% back. Here's the deal I saw. I use a Kodak Printer. A combo pack of ink costs about $27. On 123inkjets.com, I can get 8 (compatible) cartridges, 5 black & 3 color, for 59.99. I would then get 32% back from Ebates. So 8 ink cartridge would cost me just 37.19, after the rebate of 22.80.

So, if you plan to do any online shopping, go HERE to see more details and to sign in or register. First-time users also get $5 just for signing up.

Even if you don't plan to do any shopping today, go ahead and sign up now through this link, and you will be prepared for when you do go shopping online. Don't forget, you will gwt $5 just for signing up. I even got a small bonus for shopping on ebay.

I had a great trip to Publix this week. I went to take advantage of their BOGO sale. Before I left home, my husband reminded me to pick up some vienna sausage because he likes to snack on them. I always hate buying them, especially at a regular grocery store, because they are seldom on sale and seldom have coupons. When I got to the store, I went to the customer service desk to see if they had any new coupon booklets. They handed my the newest booklet, and, much to my surprice and pleasure, it had a coupon for 55¢ off 2 vienna sausages. They gave me 2 booklets, so I was able to get 4 cans for 32¢ each. I also bought:

4 Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes
4 Prego Pasta Sauce
2 Tombstone Pizzas
2 Kibbles & Bits Dog Food

Total for this was 13.90 plus tax.
I also bought 2 cans of hominy, also for my husband, which was not on sale.
Total valus before sales and coupons was 45.54. Total I spent was 15.88 plus tax.
I saved 29.86 or 65%.

--Zegerid 7.00
--Purex 2.00
--Gillette 5.00
--Head & Shoulders 2.00
--Green Bag Tag 1.00

I was in the neighborhood of a Kroger yesterday, so I decided to stop in to check out their mega event. Kroger was giving you $4 off instantly for every 8 participating items that you bought. There were hundreds of items to choose from, including Chex Mix, which is one of my family's favorite snacks. Being the last day of the sale, I really did not expect to find much of what I had on my list. I was pleasantly surprised. I bought:
6 Chex Mix (37¢)
2 Bugles (37¢)
3 Hamburger Helper (64¢)
3 Nature Valley Granola Bars (7¢)
6 Sobe Water (7¢)
3 Sunny Delight (45¢)
2 GM Cereal (98¢ & 43¢)

Total before sales and coupons would have been 56.72..

I used 19.52 in coupons and received 12.00 off my order instantly. I saved 15.06 from store sales bringing my total savings to 46.58. I also received a coupon for 1.50 off my next order. I spent 10.14 minus the 1.50 oyno for a total of 8.64 and a total savings of 48.08. That is a savings of 85%.
The numbers in the ( ) are what I paid per item after all discounts. I.m wishing now that I had bought more Nature Valley.

There were actually several cold items that I wanted to buy, but it was going to be several hours before I could get home to put them up, so I just had to be happy with the deals I got.

Many folks wantt to start "CVS-ing" but don't know how to get started. This is a simple scenario based on this week's ad to help. If you follow this scenario, using these coupons you will be on your way.

Transaction #1
Buy Blink Lubricating Eye Drops @ 7.99
---Use 1.50 off printable
Pay 6.49 plus tax
Receive 7.99 ECB

Transaction #2
Buy Crest Toothpaste @3.49
---Use $1 off coupon (P & G 8/1)
Buy Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor @ 9.97
---Use $4 off coupon (P & G 8/1)
---Use 7.99 ECB from transaction #1
Pay .47 plus tax.
Receive 7.50 ECBs (2.50 for Crest & 5.00 for Gillette)

At this point you have spent 6.94 and have 7.50 in ECBs.
You have toothepaste, eye drops, & a quality razor and have made a profit of .56.
I you do not have any of the coupons, you can still do the deals. You will pay a total of 13.44 plus tax. After your 7.50 ECBs, you will have spent 5.94. Still a great deal.

For those of you who don't know, restaurant.com is is a site where you can purchase and print gift certificates to your favorite restaurants for at least 60% off face value. $25 certificates normally sell for $10 and $10 certificates sell for $4. Most of the restaurants available are not national chains, but local, personal type settings. Within 20 miles of Columbia, SC, there are 36 restaurants listed. They offer about any kind of cuisine you may be looking for, including American, Mexican, Japanese, Thai, and Caribbean. There are cafes, grills, sports bars, family restaurants, etc to choose from.

Very often, restaurants.com offers a second discount. Right now they are offering 70% off of the certificate price, meaning that you can buy a $10 gift certificate for $1.20 and a $25 certificate for just $3. Just use the promo code STEAK when you are checking out. Your certificates are good for one year and can not be combined with any other offer. There is usually a minimum order at the restaurant, but the site has those details before you purchase your certificate. In some cases, the discount does not include alcoholic beverages.

So, if you want to save money eating out, go HERE to choose your restaurant and buy your discount certificate now. Remember to enter the promo code STEAK when checking out. I do not know how long the 70% off code is good for.

    1. Go to the Walgreens site HERE.
    2. Click on “Photo” at the top of the page and create an account or login.
    3. Upload the photos you would like printed.
    4. At checkout use the code “25FREECREDIT” New customers do not need to enter in this code to get the free prints.
    5. Make sure the “I’ll pick up my prints from Walgreens” option is selected on the next page if you do not want to pay shipping charges.
    6. When it brings you to the landing page choose “Pay in Store.” It will bring you to the next page showing a zero balance.

All that’s left is to go pick up your free prints!

I went to Rite Aid today to spend my $20 Allergy Rewards certificate. I got this after I bought $75 worth of Zyrtec over a 6-month period. I also got a $25 gift card for spending over $50 during an SCR period that fell between the other offer. I spent a little over $35 for it all after coupons and got $45 back. That, in itself, was a great deal. Today I bought:

    1 8pk Bounty Paper Towels
2 20ct Rite Aid Trash Bags
1 12 oz Complete Contact Solution
    2 3pk Post-It notes
    4 King Size Recee's
    1 Hershey Bar
    1 Crest Toothpaste

After all of my coupons and my certificate, my bill was 8¢.
My total value before any sales or coupons was 53.17
    My Wellness savings was 20.80.
My coupon savings were 32.59 (includes $20 certificate).
The 30¢ difference when you add these figures is the tax.
1 got 3.50 in +Up Rewards and will get 7.99 in SCR.
    I love Rite Aid!
