GETTING STARTED AT CVS WEEK 2
Many folks want to start "CVS-ing" but don't know how to get started. This is a simple scenario based on this week's ad to help. If you follow this scenario, using these coupons you will be on your way. This is also a continuation from last week. When we finished shopping last week, we had spent 6.96 out of pocket and had:
1 Blink Eye Drops
1 Gillette Fusion Razor
1 Crest Toothpaste.
We finished with $7.50 ECBs
This week buy:
Transaction #1
1 Philips Headphones @ 6.99 (Sunday thru Tuesday only)
2 Cans Campbells Tomato soup @ 50¢ each
---Use 50¢ off 2 coupon HERE
Subtotal is 7.49
---$7.50 ECB from last week (if you have them)
Total due 0 + tax.
Receive 6.99 ECB
Transaction #2
4 Oral B Toothbrushes @ 299 each
---Use 2 BOGO coupons from RP 8/15
---Use 2 $1 off coupons from RP 8/15
1 Glide Floss @ 3.97
---Use $1 off coupon from P&G 8/1
Subtotal is $6.95
---Use 6.99 ECB from transaction #1
Total due 0+ tax.
Receive 7.50 ECBs (5 for Oral B, 2.50 for floss)
So, if this is week 2 for you, you have paid nothing but tax for 4 toothbrushes, floss, and headphones. You have the same amount in ECBs that you started with. So for the 2 weeks you have made a profit of 52¢ (except for tax) and now you have
1 Gillette Fusion Razor
1 Crest Toothpaste
1 Blink Eye Drops
1 Philips Headphones
2 Campbells Tomato Soups
4 Oral B Toothbrushes
1 Glide Floss
You have 7.50 ECBs to start next week.
If you are just starting this week, You would pay the subtotal of 7.49 in transaction #1 and continue. You can even leave off the soup if you don't need it or don't have the coupon and pay 6.99 plus tax. You will spend 7.49 (or 6.99 without the soup) plus tax and have 7.50 for next week. Still a great deal!
