RITE AID DEALS

I made 1 trip to Rite Aid this week but did 2 separate transactions because I had 2 coupons that were $5 off a $25 purchase. I knew that my shopping list included enough to be almost $50 before coupons. Here is what I bought & their sale prices:

1 Kotex @ $2.99

1 Garnier Cleansing Towelettes @ $4.99

Total spent was $23.31 + tax = $26.42

I will get back $13.69 in Rite Aid rebates.

I will also submit for 2 $5 rebates that include the Quilted Northern and the Nestle products that I bought a couple of weeks ago BOGO.

When I receive all the rebates my total for these 2 transactions will be $2.73, which is less than I paid for tax!

MY BI-LO SHOPPING TRIP

Wow! I went to Bi-Lo a few days ago and took advantage of their big BOGO sale. I bought $262.79 worth of groceries for $73.78. Of course, a huge part of the savings was BonusCard savings but $67 was coupons! I also have earned 15 fuelperks points this month. Look at this picture to see what I got. Country Crock Spread, free; Bertolli Pasta Sauce, 25¢; Dog treats, 11¢; BC Potatoes, free. Of course, there is so much there that it's hard to tell!

CARDS FOR OUR TROOPS

Would you like to send a personalized card to our troops overseas to let them know just how much they are appreciated? Most of us don't know how to do this, or sometimes we just do not think of this as a possibility. You can go HERE. pick out a design, a message, (or write your own message) and submit it. It is then printed out by Xerox and turned over to the military support group Give2thetroops.com. This group then puts them in care packages that are going to the troops. These cards were designed by school children from around the country. They are amazing! What a GREAT idea.
(Thanks, shop4freebies.com)

SOMETHING ELSE FROM MARLBORO.COM

Did you get your free t-shirt from Marlboro.com? If not, it's not to late. Sign up and design your own. If you did get your t-shirt you can go back onto the site and log in. You can then get a free "portable ashtray". Even if you are not a smoker, this may be a good small gift for someone who is.

Thanks Christie for the heads-up!

SECOND CHANCE AT BLOOMIN ONION

Last week when I was on the Outback website trying to figure out why I did not get my Bloomin' Onion coupon and how I might could get it, I signed up to play Fantasy Football and chose a team. Since the games are only played on Wednesday and I know nothing about football, I just did not think any more about it. I then contacted Outback via email and received my coupon for my Bloomin Onion. Today I had a nice surprise in my email. Fantasy Football was yesterday, and, of course, my team did not win, but for signing up I had a coupon for another Bloomin Onion. Maybe they know how much I love them! So, if you missed the first offer, or just want to try for another one, go to their site and sign up for Fantasy Football. You could get a nice surprise next week! Also, while you're on their site, if you are planning to buy any Outback Gift Cards for the holidays, they are offering a free $20 Bonus card when you buy $100 worth of gift cards. That's a good deal fr anyone who goes there regularly. Buy $100 in gift cards for yourself and get another $20 card. That's a sweet deal!

FREEBIES I GOT THIS WEEK

I had another great week for freebies.

The mug you see in the photos is actually the one I got from Kodak last week, along with 42 photo prints. I paid shipping.

2 porcelain filigree ornaments with my sons' newborn photos. Only one is shown. Thanks to my older son and a couple of friends for allowing me to use their credits.

A free photo book with 15 extra pages. I paid a few extra dollars because I wanted even more pages. I designed it to cover my sons' first 10 years. I had to pay for the additional pages and $1.99 shipping.

2 personally designed t-shirts from Marlboro.com, one for my husband and one for myself.

$75 gift cards from Charter Communications for Outback. This was a card they sent out a few months ago and I was able to choose which card I wanted. It's about time they gave me something, as much as I pay them every month.

Sample of Rachel Ray Dog Food. My dog gobbled it right up.

Not pictured are the freebies I got from Rite Aid. I got 2 packs of Carefree and 2 bottles of Herbal Essence Shampoo. They were on sale and I had coupons that covered the full costs. All I had to pay was tax.

A small "cookbook" with lots of recipes using olives. Too bad I don't like them.

What did you get this week?

FREE CHRISTMAS CANDLE

This is a really great offer. Go HERE to request a free Herbal Christmas Candle from Beauty Herbal Spa. I have no idea if it is full-size or what. It says that it will be shipped in 5 to 15 days. I'm anxious to see what this is.

Then go HERE to print a coupon for $1.25 off of Pillsbury's Simply Refrigerated Cookie Dough. This could make for some really cheap home-cooked cookies. And if someone has them on sale soon, even better!

MY BEST SHOPPING TRIP THIS WEEK

My best shopping trip this week was also my only shopping trip this week. I stopped into Rite Aid to pick up a few things on Sunday before I went to an engagement that afternoon. I did two very good transactions, but this one was the best, even though I did not get to use my $5 off $25 coupon. I bought:

2 packs Carefree
2 Air Wick I-Motion Starters
1 Herbal Essence Shampoo
1 Herbal Essence Hair Spray

Paid $1.96 + $1.43 tax = $3.39
Full value before sale prices was $36.94
Sale prices before coupons were $20.45
That's a 95% savings from regular price & a 90% savings from sale prices.

The Herbal Essences were BOGO so one of them rang up for 0, bringing my subtotal under $25, so I could not use my $5 off coupon. If I had been thinking clearly, I could have gone back and gotten 2 cans of my favorite hair spray, on sale for $2 each, used the $5 off coupon and paid $1 less! I'll be more careful next time.

But the best thing about the booklet is the card in the middle for $4 ECB's with a $20 purchase. The next time you are in CVS, pick up this booklet for your free $4. NEW RITE AID COUPONS

Do you shop Rite Aid? If not, here is a good way to start. Click on the coupons.com link on my sidebar to print valuable coupons. Depending on what zip code you enter, you can print $3 off $15, $4 off $20, or $5 off $25 purchase. I find that I get the biggest variety of coupons by entering the zip code 90210, but you can experiment with different ones. The $4 off $20 would be great to team up with the Single Check Rebate that Rite Aid is offering this week on Duracell Batteries.
Buy 3 packs of Duracell Batteries @ 6.99 = 20.97
Use 3 75¢ off coupons -2.25
Use 3 $1 off in=ad coupons -3.00
Use $4 off $20 purchase -4.00 = $11.72 plus tax (you pay)
Single Check Rebate on Duracell -5.00 = $6.72 plus tax for 3 packs of Duracell batteries.
I bought 3 8-packs of AA batteries because we are always needing them. They were specially marked packages that contained 2 free AAA batteries, which we also use. I had been planning to buy 2 packs of AA and 1 pack of AAA, but when I saw the specially marked packages, I realized I could "have it all". So I got 24 AA batteries and 6 AAA batteries for $6.72 after rebate. Can't beat that!
