MY SHOPPPING TRIP 10/20/09

I went shopping yesterday to do my weekly couponing. I decided to give Rite Aid's Single Check Rebates a try. I bought a lot of cold and sinus medicine that were on full rebate. My total was $42.74. I had $11 in store coupons bringing my total down to $31.74. I have already submitted my receipt for my rebates which total $37.94, which is $6.20 more than I spent. There is also a form inside one of the medicines which I will submit for another $6 back. So I've got lip balm, 2 different nasal sprays, 2 boxes of lozenges, sore throat fizzlers, & and a bottle of Tresemme Hair Conditioner which came with a free bottle of shampoo. I will get everything that I paid for it back plus $12.20. That's a great deal!

Next I went to CVS. I bought everything in the picture above for just $6.05. That is 1 Glade Candle, 6 bags of Fun Size Candy Bars, 2 packs of Trident Layers Gum, 1 Bag Tag, 1 large Cadbury Bar, 2 Mounds Pack-a-Snacks, 1 V-O5 Shampoo, 1 Herbal Essence Conditioner, and 1 Herbal Essence Hair Spray. I went in with $5 in ECB's and had $5 in ECB's when I came out. I have stocked up on Chocolate, which is a necessity!

Then it was off to Bi-Lo. I took a picture of what I bought but the battery was almost dead on my phone and the pic did not save. By the time I realized this, I had already put everything up.

My total before savings was $41.10; after savings was $14.26. I bought 2 Hormel Refrigerated Entrees (regular $6.99 each), 4 Green Giant Frozen Veggies, 2 Boxes Cheese Nips, eggs, bread, tuna, Michelina's Dinners, etc.

I'd say that I had a very successful day. I spent a total of $52.05 and I will get $42.94 back in rebates. That means this whole trip cost me $9.11. The total value of what I bought was $123.54 before sale prices, coupons, and rebates. That is a 93 % savings! I love couponing! And I love Chocolate!

A FRIENDLY REMINDER

All posts made by me are believed to be legitimate offers. I will not post it if I have not checked it out and believe it to be totally legit. When I post a freebie, it is only after I have looked at it and believe it to be real. In most cases, I have already participated in the offer. However, if I wait to make certain I receive it before I post it for you, the offer will probably have expired. Also, sometimes offers are rescinded before they start. I recently removed the Chick-Fil-A Calendar offer because I learned that it was not gonna be available.
Also many store chains have different prices in different areas. If I post a price for an item at a particular store, that is because I have checked it out at the store in my area, and do not guarantee that it will be the same where you shop.
If you find that an offer is not what it appears to be, please let me know via email or in the comments section of the post so that I can correct it.
I make no price guarantees and accept no responsibility if an offer expires or is removed. This blog is done in fun and in an effort to help others save money.

FREE CHOCOLATE-DIPPED FRUIT

Edible Arrangements is giving away a free box (6 pieces) of chocolate-dipped fruit to their first 100,000 Facebook fans. Go HERE to become their fan and claim your box now. However, this is only a good deal if you are going to be "in the neighborhood" and can take your coupon to one of their locations to pick yours up , as there is a flat-rate shipping fee of $12 if you order online. Go HERE to find a location near you. Please remember that you may have to wait a day or so for your coupon to arrive in your email.

RITE AID SINGLE CHECK REBATE

Did you know that every week Rite Aid offers many items for "free"? This week is no exception. They are offering a lot of cold remedies and such on their Single Check Rebate plan. But you need to hurry if you want to take advantage of October's offers, as they will end on October 22. Go HERE to read more and see all of this week's offerings. The only draw back to Rite Aid's system is that you have to pay for it first and then wait a few weeks for your rebate. The best thing about it is that the rebate can be spent on anything you want, anywhere you want, as it is a check that you take to your bank. Although some people say they have had a problem with this. If your bank won't accept it, you can always take it to Rite Aid to buy the current deals. But before you go, go HERE to watch a few videos to earn a coupon for $4 off of a $20 purchase. While you're watching those videos you will also earn in-store coupons, which can be used to save money when you buy these item in their store. These coupons can also be used along with manufacturers' coupons to save even more.

TRIDENT GUM

Have you tried the new TRIDENT LAYERS. Go here to print a coupon for 75¢ off 1 pack. I know that CVS has this for 99¢ this week. Print 2 coupons and buy 2 packs for just 24¢ each.

UNCLE BEN'S COUPON

Like these easy rice dishes but do not want to pay almost $2 for them? Well, maybe this will help. Click HERE to print a $1 off 2 coupon and enjoy! I happen to know that Bi-Lo had this B1G1F at least 2 times in the last 3 months and it is likely that they will again. I still have several packs that I bought for 0.42 a pack by using the coupons when the rice was on sale.

60% OFF @ RESTAURANT.COM

Want to take a step up from fast food but really can not afford it? Have you seen a new restaurant that you would like to try but you've heard they are a little "pricey"? Then you need Restaurant.com. Right now, through tomorrow night, you can buy a $25 gift certicicate for just $4. This site does not offer certificates to the chain restaurants, however, it does offer quite a few choices in the larger towns. There is one reataurant in Newberry, SC that is listed here, and that is Steven W's Downtown Bistro. Looking at their menu, I probably would not choose to go there without some sort of discount. But with a $25 gift certificate, I'll be seeing them soon. Click HERE to buy your certificates now. When it asks you for a discount code enter SWEET. This code is good for any restaurant you choose during this promotiom. They are good for one year from date of purchase so this is a great Christmas gift! This special ends on 10/19/09.

2 FREE LUGGAGE TAGS

Throw away those boring luggage tags and give your baggage a new look by designing your own, unique tag. You can use a photo of your family, your favorite destination, or, to make it easier, you can choose from one of the images pre-selected by KLM. I am anxious to receive mine. The only thing this company asks in return is that you provide them with 5 or 6 friend's emails to send the offer to. No credit card is required. Create yours HERE. They would also make a great Christmas gift for that traveler on your list.

ALL YOU MAGAZINE

This is the best magazine ever if you enjoy couponing. Every issue is loaded with usable coupons. The latest issue had $91 dollars worth in it. Lots of times the use of just one coupon will pay for the magazine. For instance, before I went grocery shopping the other day, I stopped in WalMart to pick up the magazine. I bought 2 of them. I was planning to buy the Hormel Chili Masters Chili that BiLo had on B1G1F making them 1.60 ea. All You had a coupon for $2 off one, which I clipped before I went in the grocery store. BiLo then gave me full credit for the coupons, which means I gained .40 per jar. There is also a coupon for $2 off a Hormel Compleats microwave meal, which makes this free at some stores. There is one small catch. The only way to get this treasure is to Subscribe to it or buy it at Wal-Mart. No other store sells it. Cover price is 2.49, which they discount to 2.24 plus tax. This magazine is well worth the money. A couple of months ago it had a coupon for a free bag of "Jack Links Nuggets", not the small bag. This coupon had a value of 7.67. I have subscribed but it has not started yet. If you subscribe now at Amazon for 19.95 for a year, you will get a $5 certificate to be used on your next Amazon purchase. 14.95 a year is about the best you're gonna do on this magazine, unless you decide to subscribe for 2 years for $34, in which case Amazon will reward you with a $10 certificate to be used later. That makes it $12 a year. That makes it $1 an issue, which is a really great deal for all this mag has to offer. In addition to coupons it is loaded with recipes, household tips, beauty tips, and much, much, more. I highly recommend this magazine if you like couponing.

My DEAL of the WEEK from Bi-Lo

This week Bi-Lo has the 12 oz. Fresh Express Salad mix for $1.50 (regular price is about 2.79.) If you go HERE and print a coupon for .55 off, you can buy this for 0.40. The site may say that it is .55 off two, but when it prints it is usually .55 off one. Bi-Lo will double this coupon foe a total savings of 2.39 on one bag. That's 1.29 off for the sale price and 1.10 off for the coupon. Remember that you can print 2 coupons and buy two bags for .40 each. Or print 2 coupons and hold onto one to use later, since this salad mix is perishable. Just make certain that you use the coupon before it expires. Of course, you have to have a BONUSCARD. Get yours in the store or go HERE to sign up online. I recommend getting it in the store.

$5 off $25 purchase at CVS

You can get a coupon for $5 off a $25 purchase at CVS. Go HERE and click on Minit Clinic tab. Take the quiz about the flu. You will then be able to print a coupon for $5 off a purchase of $25.

CVS deal

There is a great deal at CVS beginning Sunday that you do not want to miss. It is a moneymaker for those of us who have CVS Extracare Cards. If you do not have a card, stop into CVS next time you're in the neighborhood and get one, or go HERE to sign up online. If you want to take advantage of this deal, you probably need to get your card in the store. When you buy a Glade Diffuser for 6.99 and present your ExtraCare card, you get 6.99 back in ECBs. That is, a coupon that prints out on the bottom of your receipt for 6.99 that can be spent on something else. Then if you use the coupon that was in the SmartSource insert on 10/04 for $3 off, you make almost $3 on the deal. This is how it breaks down:

Purchase Glade Reed Diffuser for 6.99

Add tax 6% or 7% .42

Use $3 off coupon -3.00

You pay 4.41

You get 6.99 back in ECBs to spend on your next trip.

You've made 2.58 and have a Glade Reed Diffuser.

There is also a $3.50 off printable coupon HERE, but it may have reached its print limit already.

Remember that ECBs expire after about a month and you can not get change back from them.

COUNTRY LIVING MAGAZINE FOR $5

Right now on Amazon.com, you can get a 1-yr subscription to Country Living Magazine for just $5,00.

It is currently priced at $10.00, but when you use coupon code: OCTMAG50 you'll receive an extra 50% off! So you'll be able to get a 1-yr subscription for just $5.00!
