FREEBIES I GOT LAST WEEK

I did not do much shopping last week, therefore, I do not have much to report here. I did get a couple of things that were free with coupons. They were:
2 32 oz Gatorade G2
1 J&J Travel size first aid kit

My total spent was 42.23
Total Saved was 101.06
Coupons used were 49.70

I am at the point where I am running out of space for extra groceries, but I still have a hard time staying away from the deals! But I have also gotten to the point that I can impose a budget for groceries, food items only, and stick to it. The month of January I spent a little less than $300.00 so I think that is a good place to start. This amount included the occasional loaf of bread, milk, etc that we had to run to the store for. Also includes "real food" bought at drug stores. and a large amount of meat bought on sale the 2nd week of the month. I used 153.00 in coupons the month of January and saved 55%.

FREEBIES I GOT LAST WEEK

This post is all about the things that I got for free last week usng coupons only. It does not include freebies after ECBs or SCRs or RRs. It does, however, include freebies obtaned through the use of Mfg coupons, store coupons, and catalinas given or awarded for buying certain products. I would love to post a picture, but everything has been put away, and in some cases, consumed already.

1 box Jollytime Popcorn
4 boxes Scotties Tissues
2 Aviva Blood Glucose Meters
2 6pks Thera-Flu
1 box Puff's Tissues
1 Double-pack Bayer Aspirins
1 3-roll pack Tums
2 Packs Birdseye Veggies
2 Starkist Tuna Pouches
3 Large tubes Aqua Fresh Toothpaste
1 DiGiorno Pizza
1 5 lb. Package of Country Style Ribs.

The pizza and ribs were bought with a $10 catalina that I got from buying 40 FL products. I only bought products that I would have had to buy somewhere anyway and products that I could not get any cheaper using coupons or shoppng elsewhere. I got the meters from Walgreens and received an extra $10 because I used a MFG coupon and a store coupon on each so I guess you could also say that they gave me $10, which paid for most of my other merchandise. Last week was a productive week.

I'll bet we could!

BI-LO SHOPPING TRIP

Darn! I forgot to save the picture! I had a great trip to Bi-Lo yesterday, even though most of what I bought was junk. I justify that by figuring that the stuff I bought that wasn't junk would have cost me as much as I paid total if I were not couponing. I bought:
10 lbs potatoes
1 Quaker Oatmeal
2 Birdseye Veggies
1 Southern Home Storage Bags
2 Lg bags Lays Chips
4 Boxes Ritz Crackerfuls
4 Boxes Nabisco 100-Calorie Snacks

FIRST WALGREENS COUPONING TRIP

Walgreens has a "register rewards" which I have never tried because the closest one is 30 miles away. Well, yesterday I was in the Columbia area for a family event and decided to give it a try. I worked out my plan and gathered my coupons the nigh before and was ready to go. Although they were out of one of the items I had planned to buy, I still did really well. I was able to pick up a coupon booklet in their pharmacy which saved me an extra $8. I did 2 separate transactions. This is what I bought:

1 Aviva blood glucose meter @ 9.99
-9.99 mfg coupon
-5.00 store coupon
2 Wet Ones @ 2.00
-1.50 mfg coupon x 2
1 Axe shampoo @ 2.99 (on clearance)
1 100 ct Lipton Tea Bags @ 2.99
1 Thera-Flu @3.99
- 2.00 mfg coupon
- 2.00 Store coupon

Paid $3.44 and got $5 back in RRs

Then I bought:

3 Van Camps Pork & Beans @ .99
- 50¢ in-ad coupon (came off 3 times)
1 Planters Peanuts @ 1.99
-1.00 store coupon
2 State Newspapers @ 2.00
Used $5 RRs from 1st transaction

Paid $1.49
In all I spent $4.93. I would have spent $4 on the newspapers anyway so I feel like I got everything else for just 93¢.

Great Trip! I'll definitely try this again the next time I am gonna be close to a Walgreen's.

SUPER SAVINGS ON SHOWER CLEANER

I have been wanting one of the Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaners, but felt that they were a little too pricey for my budget. However, with the art of couponing & Rite Aid's special I was able to get the starter kit and 2 refills super cheap. I did 2 separate transactions and this is what I got:
1 Shower Cleaner Starter Kit
2 Shower Cleaner Refills
1 Contac Cold Tablets
1 Theraflu Tablets
2 Boxes Tylenol
1 Turbo Peeler
1 4pk light bulbs
1 Fantastik Cleaner
I paid a total of $16.28, including tax, and will get $9 back in Rite Aid rebates and $5 back in an SC Johnson rebate. After rebates I will have spent just $2.28 for all of this. That's less than the tax.

FREE SAMPLE PUREX

Have you wanted to try the Purex 3-in-One Laundry Sheet but don't want to spend the money for the big pack without knowing if you are gonna like it? Go HERE to request a free sample. You will get 2 sheets.

CHEAP PEPSIS AT CVS

I am a Pepsi lover. I normally buy them by the 12pk, as that is the most economical way. Next week, CVS is offering a deal that I intend to take full advantage of, and you should too, if you regularly buy Pepsi or Pepsi products. 12pks are currently priced at 3/$10, which is a decent price. However, beginning Sunday, if you buy 6 12pks for $20, you will receive a $10 ECB.
That makes the final cost of 6 12pks just $10 or $1.67 each.
For those of you who do not know what ECBs are, it is a store coupon that can be spent on anything else in the store except alcohol, tobacco, and prescriptions. You could even use it to buy 3 more 12pks. That's 9 12pks for $20, which is $2.22 per 12pk. Of course, you have to have an ExtraCare card. If you do not have one, you can get one in the store or go HERE to request one online.

FREE UNIBALL PEN

Want a free sample of a Uni-Ball pen. They claim that it is available every day at 1:00 p.m. EST, but is limited to the first 10,000 who sign up. I can't vouch for this because I just found it online at 7 p.m., and of course they were all gone. I'll try again tomorrow. Go HERE to try your luck.

FREE GOLD BOND SAMPLE

How about a product that sanitizes and moisturizes at the same time. Click HERE to get your free sample of Gold Bond Ultimate Hand Sanitizer moisturizer.

COUPON INSERTS

It's a great week for coupons. There are 5 inserts in this week's paper. That should get us started for 2010, considering over half the coupons that I had expired on 12/31/09. It broke my heart to take all those coupons out of my binder. I felt like I was throwing away money! Well, coupons, like sales, go in cycles. So, they'll be back!

CVS 12/31

Stopped into CVS yesterday to pick up some more free stuff. Had a great trip. Since my husband was with me, we did two separate transactions. They had Dawn Dishwashing liquid on sale for 99¢ but was limited to 3 per customer. The really great thing about this deal was that the Dawn with Olay was included in the sale and I had 5 coupons for $1 off. They also had Ivory soap, 3pk for 99¢, and again, I had coupons for $1 off. This is what we bought. I have combined the two transactions.

5 Dawn with Olay @ 99¢
2 Ivory 3pks @ 99¢
2 Pantene @ 3.50
2 Olay Cleansers @ 6.99
Used:
5 $1 off Dawn
2 $1 off Ivory
1 $3 off Pantene
2 $3 off Olay
$10 ecb
Paid 3.01 oop

Got $2 ecb.

Will submit receipt for $15 Olay rebate.
This will make this trip a moneymaker of almost $4.
I love it when they pay me to take it home!
